Illustrations

Recreating Photos.

Using photos as inspiration and turning them into cute/funny images is something I love to do both for commission and as a gift for my family and friends.

Examples-

A gift for my father. This is a drawing of our first dance from my wedding.

A funny recreation of a photo of my friend dancing at my wedding.

(I had a Halloween themed wedding which should hopefully explain the black dress and Jason mask!)

Characters

Example Descriptions-

  1. Top left- A character I drew based on a good friend of mine and the two cats that she owns.

  2. Top right- Version two of the original drawing mentioned above. One of my friend’s cats is blind. I thought it would be fun to make the drawing futuristic and give him a robotic eye.

  3. Bottom left- A portrait of a women. I really enjoy drawing animals or using my friends as references for characters. This drawing was my attempt at drawing something without using any clear inspiration or reference.

  4. Bottom middle- A line work sketch of a women in a dress.

  5. Bottom right- A women cheering or jumping. I wanted to work on some fun poses and movement within my illustrations.

Characters-
Animals

Examples-

  1. A pigeon wearing a shirt. This was a part of a larger image I drew, but later updated/changed this pigeon into 2 different styles of drawing.

  2. Honey badger drinking honey out of the jar. This is from a series of drawings I am currently working on for a local honey company.

  3. Cowboy Snake! Not much else to say about this one, but he is cute!

  4. & 5. Otters on a toilet. These were done for a friend’s husband whos nickname in the military was “toilet otter”. Not sure why, but it made for a fun drawing!

Animal Alliterations

When I don’t know what to draw and need some inspiration- I’ve begun drawing alliterations of animals with various weapons. It is a surprisingly fun drawing prompt if you find yourself stuck or lacking inspiration.

Some examples:

  • RPG Rat

  • Flailing Fish (a personal favorite)

  • Otter with an Uzi (An unfortunate discovery post drawing revealed that Uzi does in fact start with a U.)

  • Machine Gun Mouse

Tattoos- Traditional Style

A commission for a newly wed couple.

The bride and the groom told me their love story and I converted it into traditional style tattoos.

Some examples:

  • A letter for all of the letters the bride sent to the groom while he was deployed

  • A horse shoe to represent the brides family who are involved in horse racing and every member wears a horseshoe bracelet.
